My client is a multinational chemicals manufacturer and leader in environmental services. An opportunity has now emerged for a SHEQ Manager to join their highly productive COMAH site on a permanent staff basis. You will lead and mentor a SHEQ Manager and be part of the senior leadership team onsite, taking ownership of a broad array of SHEQ matters and will enjoy significant personal responsibility in doing so. In particular you will:
• Control and maintain effective /iterative hazard identification and risk assessment programme.
• Assist in assessments of new opportunities and in management of change processes.
• Liaise with authorities, regulatory and other bodies to ensure legal compliance.
• Investigation of incidents and near miss events.
• Maintenance and review of Safety Report.
• Ensure SHEQ requirements are effectively communicated through site inductions and manage the SHEQ competency programmes.
• Report monthly on personal safety performance and as soon as practicable on any actual or potential lost time injuries or significant near misses.
• Support the Chemical Exposure Monitoring Programmes (COSHH).
• Manage Occupational Health Surveillance Programmes.
• Maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with Environmental Permit.
• Manage the sites’ environmental monitoring programmes and quality management system.
• Host Duty of Care Visits with Customers and conduct Duty of Care audits.
• Management of continued certification to ISO45001/9001/14001.
• Assist in SHEQ training and competency programmes .
In order to apply for this role, you must be eligible to work in the UK and you will be qualified in an appropriate health and safety discipline, ideally NEBOSH Diploma. Experience in similar chemical manufacturing/processing environments would be advantageous. This role is ideal for a Health and Safety advisor who is ready for the next step into management or an existing Health and Safety Manager who would like a new challenge.
