Site EHS Officer – Permanent Staff – North West – Chemical Manufacturing
Our client is an internationally renowned chemicals manufacturing company with operations across Europe and the globe. An opportunity has now arisen at their North West site, based in the Merseyside area, for a Site EHS Officer to join their existing team. Your responsibilities will be:
- Assisting the Site SHE manager in the implementation of Safe Systems of Work in line with legal requirements, Site SHE initiatives and in line with external standards ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
- Identifying any areas for concern, and implementing compliance with site Hazard Management Strategy, to reduce overall SHE risks and prevent major accidents
- Managing site occupational health aspects such as lead hygiene, noise, vibration, etc
- Identifying, developing and implementing Safe Systems of Work in line with local needs.
- Source of advice to all levels of personnel on EP site on safety, health and environmental matters
- Monitoring, analysis and reporting of site KPIs (including accidents, incidents and near misses) and targets to identify key areas requiring improvements / action.
- Development of and coaching in continuous improvement in SHE culture for the site work groups
- Involvement in new / large projects for advice, planning and implementation of safe systems of work.
- Overseer of site SHE reps including their SHE work and meetings
- Identifying and resolving problem areas using performance indicators, knowledge, influence people skills
- Management of emergency response training program
You will play a key role in the implementation and development of HSE policies and procedures, this is a pivotal role for the site. To make an application you must hold a current NEBOSH qualification and be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar, chemical manufacturing environment. You must be eligible to work in the UK, and you will be an excellent communicator with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
